Welcome to The Bridge Educational Trust
Supporting residents of Dorset with educational grants
The Bridge Educational Trust is able to provide a limited number of single or recurrent grants each year for the education of any individual drawn primarily from the parishes of Piddletrenthide with Plush, Piddlehinton and Alton Pancras, and secondarily from those born or having their main residence in the County of Dorset (excluding the South East Dorset conurbation of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and associated areas).
The Trust was set up in 1990 by the late Mrs Diana Bridge in memory of her husband, John Edward Maurice Bridge, a descendant of the family which founded the Piddle Valley School in the middle of the nineteenth century and which lived at that time at the Manor House in Piddletrenthide, Dorset. Mrs Bridge died in 2005

“I just wanted to email and let you know how grateful I am for the grant that I received. It was so helpful with my financial needs as it has allowed me to have a much less stressful start to my term. I was able to buy the books I needed for my learning and meant I had more funds for food shops. It really took a lot of pressure of me and meant I had a lot more time to study and complete my assignments. ” NH 2020
